During this class we corrected the pending exercises about grammar (second conditional). Then, we practised with an oral activity in which the students had to talk about choices (If I had to choose...).

We finished the class dealing with a new issue: frienship.First we read a short text and completed it with some phrases and then discussed about our close friends.
Finally, we read other three texts in which we learnt about a website which helped people to find old friends and how 2 different people tried this site and the results of their search.

21st February

We started the session correcting the pending exercises from the Grammar Bank about the first conditional and continued with a speaking activity on p.55. The students in groups had to choose one topic, and write 3 reasons for or against it. Then, they exposed their ideas in the group and the rest had to express their agreement or not.

After that, we continued with a new grammar point, second conditional. To introduce the topic, we read a questionnaire from a magazine, and the students had to find the answers to the questions and decide who answered what.
We reviewed the grammar point: second conditional (if+ past / would)

To consolidate the new structure, we did a communication activity. The students had to complete some questions with the correct verb form and then, their classmated needed to answer them.

We finished the class completing the vocabulary bank about houses and listening to a famous English song form Madness "Our house".

Homework: Reading on p.59 ex.5b,c
